If and when duplication is detected after publishing in JCBS, the journal will be forced to 'retract' such articles. The journal bases its policies on "Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals" which can be assessed at the URL http://www.icmje.org/urm_full.pdf. All accepted papers are suitably edited before publication and sent to the corresponding author for the print proof.
